Choosing your sign-up incentive
The single most powerful thing you can do to drive app downloads is to give patients a clear reason to download right now. A sign-up incentive does exactly that — it turns "I'll do it later" into "I'll do it now."
Below are the four incentive types that work best for aesthetic clinics. You only need to choose one. Pick the one that fits your clinic's style, then set it up in your CRM → App Builder → Rewards before you start promoting.
Option 1 — Welcome discount voucher
Example: "Download the app and get £/€10 off your next treatment."
This is the highest-converting incentive because it creates an immediate, tangible reason to book. Patients who download to claim a discount are already in a booking mindset.
- Best for: Clinics with a steady flow of new patients, or clinics launching the app for the first time.
- How to set it up: Create a reward in App Builder → Rewards → Add Reward. Set the type to Discount, set the value to your chosen amount, and set the point cost to 0 so it is free on sign-up.
- Tip: Keep it between £/€5 and £/€15 — meaningful enough to feel valuable, small enough not to hurt your margin.
Option 2 — Bonus loyalty points on sign-up
Example: "Download the app and start with 200 bonus points — worth £/€10 towards your next treatment."
Points feel like a long-term reward rather than a one-time discount. This option builds habits — patients who earn points are more motivated to keep coming back to spend them.
- Best for: Clinics with a strong existing patient base who just need a nudge to engage with the app.
- How to set it up: In CRM → App Builder → Points, enable the Welcome Points setting and enter your chosen amount.
- Tip: Make the value clear in your messaging — "200 points = £/€10 off" is more compelling than just "200 points."
Option 3 — Free complimentary add-on
Example: "Download the app and claim a free lip massage / LED boost / brow tidy with your next appointment."
This feels luxurious and premium without high cost. Add-ons that take 5–10 minutes with low material cost work perfectly.
- Best for: Clinics that want to reinforce a premium brand rather than discount-led positioning.
- How to set it up: Create a reward in App Builder → Rewards → Add Reward. Set the type to Gift and set the point cost to 0.
- Tip: Choose an add-on that introduces patients to a treatment they haven't tried yet — a low-risk way to upsell.
Option 4 — Beauty Bank wallet credit
Example: "Download the app and get £/€5 added to your Beauty Bank — use it towards any treatment."
This is unique to Glovora and the most forward-thinking option. Credit in the Beauty Bank builds the habit of saving towards treatments, which increases average spend over time.
- Best for: Clinics that have activated the Beauty Bank / wallet feature and want to drive patients to start using it.
- How to set it up: Apply wallet credit manually via CRM → Client Profiles → [Patient] → Wallet → Adjust Balance when a patient signs up. Automated sign-up credit is coming in a future update.
- Tip: Pair this with a top-up prompt — "Your £/€5 is already in your wallet. Top it up to £/€50 and it's there whenever you need it."
Which option should you choose?
If you are not sure, start with Option 1 (welcome discount voucher). It is the simplest to explain, easiest to set up, and has the highest conversion rate. You can always add birthday rewards or a points programme later once patients are active.
Whatever incentive you choose, make sure every member of your team knows about it before you start promoting. Nothing undermines trust faster than a patient arriving to claim their reward and the receptionist not knowing what they are talking about.
