QR Generator

The QR Generator produces a unique QR code for your clinic that patients scan with the Glovora mobile app to connect to your clinic instantly. You can copy either of the two deep links to share digitally, or download a high-resolution PNG for digital displays and marketing materials.

Where to find it

In the left-hand sidebar, click QR Generator. The page is titled QR Generator.

How it works

Each QR code encodes a unique, clinic-specific connect link. Two types of code are available:

  • Rotating — expires automatically after 24 hours. Suitable for temporary use, events, or situations where you want the code to stop working after a short period.
  • Permanent — never expires. Suitable for printed materials, posters, website pages, and business cards where replacing the code would be impractical.

Both types can be revoked at any time from the CRM.

Generating a code

Generate Code and Regenerate

The Generate Code button (shown as Regenerate when a code already exists) is in the top-right corner of the page. Clicking it creates a new active code for your clinic. If a rotating code already exists, clicking Regenerate replaces it immediately — the old code stops working as soon as the new one is created.

Permanent toggle

Before clicking Generate Code, use the Permanent (never expires) toggle in the Clinic Deep Links card to choose the code type.

Toggle stateWhat it does
Off (default)Generates a rotating code that expires after 24 hours
OnGenerates a permanent code that never expires

The toggle state is remembered between sessions — if you last generated a permanent code, the toggle will still be on next time you visit the page.

tip

Use a permanent code for anything printed or distributed physically — posters, business cards, window stickers, and your website. For temporary use such as a one-day event or a short-term campaign, use a rotating code so it becomes inactive automatically.

The QR code display

Once a code has been generated, the QR Code Preview card on the left shows:

  • A live QR code image (displayed at 256 × 256 px on screen)
  • The short code identifier shown as a badge below the image
  • The expiry date and time for rotating codes, or a Never expires badge for permanent codes

If your rotating code has fewer than six hours remaining before it expires, a red warning banner appears at the top of the page prompting you to regenerate.

Downloading the QR code

Download the PNG

  1. Open QR Generator from the sidebar.
  2. Ensure a code has been generated and the QR image is visible.
  3. Click PNG.
  4. Your browser saves the file as glovora-qr-{code}.png at 400 × 400 px.

Use this file for:

  • Digital signage and in-clinic screens
  • Email newsletters
  • Social media posts and stories
  • Your clinic website
tip

For the best scan reliability when printing, ensure the QR image is reproduced at no smaller than 10 cm × 10 cm and that the white quiet zone (border) around the code is not cropped or covered.

Click the Test button to open the preview deep link in a new browser tab. This lets you verify the link resolves correctly before distributing it.

Revoking a code

The Revoke Current button appears in the top-right corner whenever an active code exists. Clicking it immediately invalidates the code — anyone scanning the QR code or following either deep link after revocation will no longer be connected to your clinic.

Use this if a code has been compromised, shared incorrectly, or if you simply want to start fresh with a new one.

warning

Revoking a code cannot be undone. Any printed materials, posters, or distributed links that use the revoked code will stop working immediately. Generate a new code and update all materials before revoking the old one if you need uninterrupted access.

The Clinic Deep Links card shows two separate links for your active code.

This link is labelled For Testing and is intended for development and QA use. It points to the Rocket preview environment and opens the Glovora app preview with your clinic pre-selected. Share this link with your implementation team or use it to verify the onboarding flow before going live.

Format: https://preview.builtwithrocket.new/aestheticsconnect-pd34x89/?connect=1&code={code}

This link is labelled For Distribution and is the one to use in all real-world scenarios — your website, email campaigns, social media, and anywhere patients will see it. It opens the Glovora patient app directly and connects the patient to your clinic.

Format: https://app.glovora.com/connect?code={code}

Each link has a Copy button (clipboard icon) that copies it to your clipboard and shows a confirmation toast.

Sharing options

MethodHow
Digital displayDownload the PNG and display it on a screen, TV, or tablet at reception.
Share a linkClick the copy button next to the Universal Link and paste it into an email, SMS, social media post, or messaging app.
Website embedDownload the PNG and add it to a page on your clinic website or booking confirmation emails.

There is no built-in share sheet or social media integration on this page — sharing is handled manually using the downloaded file or the copied link.

How a patient scan works

If the Glovora app is already installed

  1. The patient opens the Glovora mobile app.
  2. The patient taps Scan QR in the app.
  3. The patient points their camera at your QR code.
  4. The app reads the connect link, looks up your clinic using the embedded code, and connects the patient automatically — no manual entry required.

If the Glovora app is not installed

When a patient's camera app or QR scanner reads the code, it opens the Universal Link in their browser. The page shows:

  • The Glovora logo and brand
  • A Download for iOS button (links to the App Store)
  • A Download for Android button (links to Google Play)
  • An Open in Glovora App button — attempts to open the native app if it was installed during the session

The patient installs the app, then either scans the QR code a second time or taps Open in Glovora App to complete the connection.

Role permissions

The QR Generator is available to all authenticated staff members regardless of role. There is no permission restriction.

Common mistakes

Distributing the Testing link instead of the Production link The App Preview Link (Rocket) is for internal testing only. Share the Universal Link (labelled For Distribution) with patients and on all public-facing materials. The two links are clearly labelled in the Clinic Deep Links card.

Revoking a code that is still printed or in circulation Revoking a code instantly breaks every QR code and link that uses it. Before revoking, generate a new code, update all printed and digital materials, and only then revoke the old one.

Generating a rotating code for permanent materials If you print a rotating code on a poster or business card, it will expire within 24 hours and become useless. Switch on the Permanent toggle before generating a code that you intend to print or embed in long-lived materials.

Printing before the code is confirmed as working Use the Test button to verify the deep link resolves correctly before sending anything to print. This opens the preview environment and lets you check the full patient journey.

warning

Do not crop, resize, or stylise the QR code module pattern in a way that reduces the quiet zone (the white border around the code). The QR image already includes a margin. Removing or covering the quiet zone will cause scan failures, particularly on older phone cameras.
